Families to Beat the Heat at the Phillip & Patricia Frost
Museum of Science w/ Innovative Cooling Station

The Museum Plaza at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, 1101 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132
Visitors are invited to cool off and join the fun at Florida Power & Light Company’s Cooling Station this Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 10 from 10am - 6pm. It’s the perfect location to cool down during some of the city’s hottest events including: Free Second Saturdays at the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), DWNTWN Art Days and the Arsht Center's ArtsLaunch.

Guests will take a moment to “chill” out by walking into a larger-than-life ice cube that refreshes with music and a cold blast cooled by liquid nitrogen, along with a video souvenir of their experience. The Cooling Station is the perfect way to recharge during an exciting weekend of local events. It showcases how customers can beat the heat this summer with FPL’s energy-saving tips and tools – including the new mobile app and the Online Home Energy Survey – and turn themselves into energy experts by taking control of their usage and bill.

Guests can also participate in “Take Flight with Kites” with Frost Science, presented by the Miami Downtown Development Authority, as they learn about the history of kites and how they fly, plus make and decorate their own kites.

This event is free and open to the public. www.frostscience.org

The False Self: The Complexity of Body Image and
Identity Issues in the Treatment of Eating Disorders

Friday, October 6, 2017, 9am - 4pm at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Executive Meeting Center Palm Beach Gardens
4431 PGA Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410 / Cost: $95 / Register Here...

Body image is perhaps the least understood and most complex of the core issues associated with eating disorder treatment. As an integral part of the life cycle, body image development shifts and adapts as we age and engage in life experiences. It is ironic that although our clients are focused on and obsessed with their bodies, they remain virtually disconnected from the experience of living in their bodies. This seminar will address the intricate interplay between brain, body and beliefs (why we believe what we believe) and attendees will learn body-focused, bottom-up strategies designed to help clients reclaim their authentic self.
